Oh no she didn’t!

Whatta Doll

I just have to mention this guy Sabrina and I met on the red carpet.

Boxtrolls

Boxtrolls

We didn’t catch his name because he was so busy talking about his incredible doll, Winnie from Boxtrolls. (I think he is either one of the creators or puppeteers, such was his enthusiasm.) I have never seen or felt a doll like this! It looks solid, but feels sort of  like modeling clay. Every party of her, from dress, to arms and legs, to hair, can be moved and will hold that position. Perfect for posing for stop motion animation.  Here Dee Bradley Baker, the voice of Fish, is holding his doll.

That is my dream, to actually hold the characters I play. Crazy enough, I have been heard to exclaim, “Look Mom! I’m a plush toy!”

Last Night at the Annies

Red Carpet

The award show was fantastic. Lots of fun and definitely lots of happy winners. The day started with the show giving me the star’s dressing room! In past years people like; William Shatner, Patton Oswald, Tom Kenny and Patrick Warburton, had the star dressing room. This year, my name was on the door! Who woulda thunk?!?!

The overcrowded red carpet was fun. Here are a few selfies we got.

Hopefully the professional photogs got some better ones.

I snuck a few shots during the show and caught a few during the after party.

New Year

The end of  2014 brought a McDonalds commercial and a looping gig on a movie. A fun year in all, but I am looking forward to 2015! This will be my 10th year announcing the Annie Awards. In the next day I will be posting the sketches for this year’s red carpet dress….

My first Red Carpet interview 2014

The folks at Red Carpet Report took a great shot of us on the Annie Red Carpet and kicked off all the interviews. Check out the 2 links. http://www.flickr.com/photos/minglemediatv/12298442223/

The Red Carpet experience is always fun, interesting and exciting. It’s also a very humbling experience if you are not a recognizable celeb, as the cameras seem to call in the crickets, watches come up and everybody starts looking in every direction, but where you are standing. It’s pretty funny.
This year was different. Lorilyn was our PR wrangler who escorted us down the carpet. She held our purses and coats, lordy it was cold, and introduced us to the various “paparazzi”.  She is great! We, had such a fun time taking pictures and “doing” interviews. Bonnie Burrow, from the Press Photographers Assoc. (she always takes amazing shots) started off our jaunt on the carpet, and JD Piche from Mingle Media headed up our first interview! I love the shot he took of Sabrina and I (click on link above). Sabrina really enjoyed this unique experience, and trust me, there were no crickets, no watches and nobody wanted to look away from that cutie!
As other shots and interviews show up, I’ll post more.

Paying Homage to the Designer

My 2013 Road to the Red Carpet is complete. The Oscars paid homage to the designers on the red carpet and I wanted to follow suit here. So, to the incredible Alina Pizzano: From Concept to Couture, I present  The Ribbon Dress.
