My “Yeaggy” dress with its first layer of teal drapings. At my fitting yesterday, these were adjusted and the next layer of thin black strips pinned on. Finally, will come the black Swarovski crystals. With all the strips and pins, I felt like a bird in a cage. But, with trust and imagination, you can tell this dress will be stunning!

Step by step! My “Yeaggy” couture takes time. The dress foundation is finished and now we are working on the 3 different types of drapings. Here is the dress and one of the drapings being covered in teal silk. Next fitting tomorrow!

Watching a dress go from concept, sketch on paper, to completion is an amazing process. We have now entered, the middle part of this process. I had my first dress fitting and I’m sooooo thrilled!!! It’s all still black, with outer stitching and extra fabric, but you can tell it’s going to be amazing. It will, “make the eyes dance” as a friend of mine put it. Check it out! I’m so excited to be wearing, a Yeaggy!!!

I’m going over to meet with the designer, Alex Yeaggy, for my first fitting tomorrow. Yeah!! Since my dress is sleeveless and short, she has also created a cape to keep me warm. Here is the cape on the dress form still in progress; black with a beautiful, teal, silk lining. I’ll hopefully get pictures of the dress tomorrow!

Alex Yeaggy, my talented young designer, has created an amazing, amazing, amazing dress for the Annie event. It is so sexy and classy and I get to pick the colors! My favorites are teal and purple. Although they can be pretty together, it might be too bright of a combination, even for the animation awards. So we decided to go with teal drapings over black mesh. The dress will have lots of dimension. Oh and it’s short, mid-thigh!

This year, in honor of the show stepping up it’s game (being televised) I’ve decided to step up mine! I’ll be walking the red carpet in a designer dress. That’s right! My friend, Diana Lansleen, introduced me to Alex Yeaggy, an amazing, young, LA designer who studied and worked in Italy. Her portfolio is full of garments that vary from beautiful to fun to sexy. Her designs are fabulous and she is creating an event dress just for me!! She is also designing a cape and shoes to go with! On paper, the dress design is unique and daring. Can she finish it in time? Can my body pull it off???? It will be so much fun to go from concept to red carpet. I hear this can sometime be a difficult journey and one relying on trust. If it’s alright with you… I’d like to share this simple announcer’s wardrobe road, to the red carpet. ~Dina

39th Annual Annie Awards

The new year is starting off with a bang! On February 4th, at Royce Hall, UCLA, I will be the announcer once again for the Annie Awards. This will mark my 7th year as “The Voice of the Annies.” It is all very exciting as there is a new regime, new categories like Video Games, and… it will be televised!

The Thanksgiving Orange

Just heard, through the grapevine…or would it be pumpkin patch, given the time of year….that Cartoon Network is giving the Annoying Orange a television series! Wooohooo! Don’t know what this means yet for us adorable peaches and marshmellows, but keeping my eyes crossed for some fun shows. Will keep you posted on when my episodes air and if I get to do more! Have a happy and healthy Thanksgiving!

I want to say thank you to all the kids in Mrs. Wildman’s drama classes. I totally love all your thank you notes!! Your words mean a lot to me. I truly enjoyed sharing the world of voice overs with you all. It was so much fun watching and hearing you do the warm ups, and voice placements. You had great questions, energy and were good directors as well. I wish you all much luck in whatever you choose to do.

I just got back from recording another episode of Bleach. Fun series.

Next week I will be reading stories on Thursday night at Barnes and Noble in the Calabasas Commons. I’ll get back to you with the time.
